Estoril Classics Revives F1 and Motorcycles this October

Estoril Classics, one of the largest classic car events in the world, will be held this year from October 6th to 8th, once again heralding the return of Formula 1 to the Estoril circuit. The Portuguese racetrack has hosted thirteen editions of the Portuguese Grand Prix. Anticipated is a weekend filled with emotions for the entire family, as the history of motorsport parades on the track.

Since 2017, it has become a tradition for fans to embark on a true pilgrimage to the historic track in Cascais during early October. For three days, they can closely witness the machines that have indelibly marked the pages of the sport they hold dear. Moreover, they have the opportunity to directly interact with the drivers.

Race Ready, supported by the Cascais Tourism Office and in partnership with Peter Auto, will once again bring Formula 1 to the Autódromo. The cars that defined the pinnacle of the category until 1986 will roar loudly, delighting the spectators who fill the stands and the paddock. The event will be imbued with a unique atmosphere, with exhilarating races in which nobody wants to miss out.

Once again, an extensive and diverse starting grid is anticipated, featuring representation from some of the most significant teams and carmakers in the top category. This line-up will transport fans back to the era of the Portuguese Grand Prix in Estoril.

Alongside Formula 1, which will be the highlight of the weekend, the eclectic Iberian Historic Endurance and Peter Auto competitions will ensure a wide range of participation. This guarantees the presence of incredible machines that have left their mark in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and major touring car championships.

In 2023, not only will motorsport history grace the track, but also motorcycling, thanks to the presence of The Amicale Spirit of Speed. This Europe-wide club is dedicated to preserving the remarkable machines from the annals of two-wheeled racing.

Motorcycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness on the track and in the paddock the motorcycles that have made their mark in Grand Prix events, endurance races, superbike championships, and more since the 1950s. This aspect adds another compelling reason for motorsport fans to be excited.

As is customary, several automobile and classic clubs will be in attendance at Estoril. Additionally, there will be street food options available in the paddock and numerous merchandise shops that will bring joy to the entire family.

Duarte Nobre Guedes, the Event Mentor, emphasizes that "Estoril Classics is one of the largest classic car events in the world, elevating Cascais's international prominence in a segment that holds great importance for us. The event has achieved tremendous success since its inaugural edition, and I believe this year will be no different. Over the course of three days, the public will have the opportunity to witness remarkable machines, while the gentlemen drivers, drivers, and teams visiting us will have the chance to experience Cascais—its beauty, climate, gastronomy, and more."

Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, highlights that "Estoril Classic is an event that has made a lasting impact on the global classics scene, with its incredible setting and the opportunity to witness the cars in competition being two decisive factors for its success. This year, we have Formula 1, Peter Auto competitions, Historic Endurance, and the addition of The Amicale Spirit of Speed. Last year, the Autodromo do Estoril saw 35,000 visitors, and I am confident that this year we will once again have a substantial number of fans in the stands and the paddock."

These reasons alone provide ample justification for visiting the historic Estoril circuit from October 6th to 8th, and the organizers anticipate a larger turnout of spectators compared to previous editions. Limited paddock tickets will soon be available for purchase at the usual sales points, while access to the grandstands is free of charge.
